Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo announced the appearance of granddaughter 139 and highlighted that the truth about the crimes of the last military dictatorship "keeps coming to light." The president of the association, Estela de Carlotto, mentioned that the granddaughter is the daughter of Noemí Beatriz Macedo and Daniel Alfredo Inama, militants of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party. The woman was born between January and February of 1978, and her parents were abducted in November 1977.
"It is not clear if she was abducted in La Plata or in the same operation as him in Buenos Aires, in Barrio Norte," Carlotto stated. She affirmed that this finding is the result of a collective struggle and the importance of maintaining state policies to end crimes against humanity such as the abduction of grandchildren.
The head of Grandmothers emphasized the need to sustain Human Rights policies and that these mechanisms be supported by the Government and its personnel to continue the process of Memory, Truth, and Justice. For his part, Ramón Inama, brother of the recovered granddaughter, classified this event as an act of justice and reparation.
In December 2024, Grandmothers had announced the recovery of granddaughter 138, daughter of Marta Enriqueta Pourtalé and Juan Carlos Villamayor, who remain missing. These findings underscore the importance of keeping the history alive and remembering those who disappeared during the military dictatorship.
Carlotto recalled that Daniel's mother died in 2013 without ceasing to search for her grandchild. The president of Grandmothers highlighted that the truth about the crimes of the dictatorship continues to come to light and called for reflection on the importance of recognizing history and learning from it.
